Prepare the soil: Clear the area where you want to install the garden edging. Remove any debris, rocks, or weeds and ensure the surface is level.

Mark the boundary: Use a string or a garden hose to mark the desired boundary for your garden edging. This will give you a guide to follow while installing it.

Dig a trench: Use a spade or an edging tool to dig a trench along the marked boundary. The depth of the trench should be equal to the height of the garden edging.
